The Val d’Era is a beautiful land that I have had the privilege of photographing many times for engagement and other events. There is nothing more beautiful than capturing the cultivated hills, hay bales, cypress trees, and farmhouses that dot this wonderful Tuscan landscape.
In particular, I love to photograph this area during the sunset hours, when the golden light of the sun enhances the sinuous lines and warm colors of nature. I have taken many photos here, but some of my favorites are the ones I took for Matteo and Annamaria’s wedding.
We decided to take their engagement photos here in Val d’Era because they wanted a secluded location with the typical Tuscan landscape. We chose to photograph in Volterra and surrounding areas, passing through a road that led us between two hills. From there, we reached the top to enjoy a magnificent view that overlooked a farmhouse in the middle of the valley, with the walls of Volterra in the background.
We then proceeded to Lajatico, the birthplace of Andrea Bocelli, where the annual opera concert is held at the Teatro del Silenzio, a unique and suggestive place. Here, we captured the last shots, also using the murals we found in the town.
Looking at these photographs, I can still feel the peace and beauty of Val d’Era, which always give me a sense of relaxation and emotion.
